Students

Straight Up Student Ministries exists to meet the spiritual needs of students in grades 7 - 12. We confront students with their need for Jesus Christ and teach them to daily live to honor Him. Our goal is to produce "life change," then to help students become "life changers". This life change is not just "cleaning up our act" or to "stop sinning". We want to introduce students to a personal relationship with Jesus. He can change us from the inside-out and make us a "new creation". As He transforms our lives, He then uses us to serve Him by serving others.

To accomplish these goals, we use:

Youth Group Meetings - FUSION, (see description below)
Youth Sunday School - Graded Bible study classes in which the Word of God is studied systematically and applied to our everyday lives.
Camps, Retreats and Conferences - each designed to speak specifically to Jr. High and High School students right where they live.
Youth Group Activities - fun activities in which we learn to "do life together"


FUSION - "a merging of diverse, distinct, or separate elements into a unified whole". Or "the union of atomic nuclei to form heavier nuclei resulting in the release of enormous quantities of energy". For us, FUSION is the joining together of students to gain spiritual strength and energy from each other in order to have a more powerful impact on our schools and community for Christ. That's what we want our Youth Group Meetings to be - a time when we lay aside the school rivalries and concentrate on what we have in common -- faith in Jesus Christ! FUSION meets each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
